Another Day in Paradise

Living in a small town is great.

The island has one main road that runs the length north/south. If you travel up and down like I do you spend alot of time lifting your left hand in recognition as you pass a neighbors car. It is almost like a well orchestrated dance. You will also see these same people at the Harris Teeter, PTA and the Ballfield. Every adult is known as "Mr." or Miss" fill in the first name. Everyone is an uncle or aunt even if there is no family tree planted in the front yard.

The island is starting to fill with summer visitors. The store was busier today. We have several major construction projects going on in the midst. Whose great idea was it to tear up roads and pools during tourist season? Some politician I'm sure.

We are heading to Atlanta on friday to get some big city culture and ideas from other gift stores.

Have a great weekend.
Karen
